holeinoneguyHole in One at Coral Bay

On 22nd August 2012, amateur golfer Brian Benstead scored the ever elusive ‘hole in one’ on the extraordinary and difficult Coral Bay Assault golf course. On the 95m, par 3, second hole, Brian hit a 9 iron tee shot into a 20 knot cross wind. The ball curved around with the wind, landing 3m from the pin & ran into the hole for a HOLE IN ONE! Brian was later awarded a Hole in One certificate by friends at a celebration BBQ.

Volunteers at New Housing Complex

The new housing development at Coral Bay as part of the Royalties for Regions project is nearing completion. The landscaping segment saw the delivery of 5000 native plants comprising trees, shrubs & ground cover which needed to be planted as soon as possible, a daunting task for the few people involved. Faye Schorer, a keen gardener, realized that help was needed, so, along with ten volunteers staying at The Peoples Park, she organized the arranging, positioning & planting of the majority of the plants. All of the volunteers had a great day & are proud of their efforts demonstrating that the Coral Bay community spirit is alive & well!
